Collaborative Initiatives
Through our Collaborative Initiatives, we bring together nonprofits, community partners, and resources to build capacity, address critical needs, and create sustainable solutions for Cabarrus County. These initiatives are designed to support agencies at every stage, from emerging organizations to long-standing nonprofits, while aligning our collective efforts around the social determinants that most impact health and well-being in our community.
Support Cabarrus
Support Cabarrus is the capacity-building arm of the Greater Cabarrus Foundation, created to strengthen local nonprofits through practical, professional, and affordable support.
We walk alongside nonprofit organizations across Cabarrus County, offering behind-the-scenes services that help agencies operate more effectively, plan for the future, and stay focused on their mission. Our approach is rooted in partnership, trust, and a deep understanding of the realities nonprofits face every day.
Built in collaboration with local nonprofit leaders, Support Cabarrus exists to make strong systems and reliable support more accessible. Our goal is simple: no organization should have to navigate growth, change, or complexity alone.
Agencies Addressing Social Determinant Issues
The Greater Cabarrus Foundation is proud to support nonprofit agencies that are addressing the most critical social determinant issues impacting our community. These organizations are working every day to improve quality of life for individuals and families across Cabarrus County.
Our work is guided by the Cabarrus Health Alliance Community Needs Assessment and focuses on the following key areas:
Education
Employment and Training
Food Security and Nutrition
Healthcare
Housing and Homelessness
By addressing these foundational issues, local nonprofits are creating safer, healthier, and more stable futures for our neighbors. Through grantmaking, partnerships, and capacity-building efforts, the Foundation works to strengthen this ecosystem of agencies and amplify their collective impact.
Create an Agency Fund
Qualified nonprofit agencies in Cabarrus County can establish an Agency Fund through the Greater Cabarrus Foundation as a way to strengthen long-term financial health and sustainability.
To qualify, organizations must:
Be a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization
Be based in Cabarrus County
Align with a mission focused on improving one or more social determinants of health and well-being, such as housing, food security, healthcare access, safe environments, education, or employment
We provide guidance and support throughout the fund-establishment process to ensure each agency’s fund aligns with its strategic goals and supports long-term impact.
