GRANTS
The William Coltrane and Norma Craft Cannon Charitable Trust provides support to charitable organizations across the region, honoring the philanthropic legacy of the Cannon family.

Agencies must meet the following criteria to apply:
Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization
Provide services to residents in Cabarrus County

While operating grant fund requests are preferred, the WCNC Cannon Charitable Trust does accept grant proposals for capital needs that have a direct correlation to the mission of the organization.

Impact on Lives of Cabarrus County Residents
Effective Board Governance
Financial Stability

Upon receiving a grant award notification, agencies are required to complete the online Grant Agreement before funds are disbursed.
Agencies are also required to submit an online final report on or before December 31, 2026.

32 Nonprofits Awarded $385,000 in Grants Through William Coltrane and Norma Craft Cannon Charitable Trust
Originally established as a $300,000 pilot grant cycle, the program expanded to $385,000 in response to the overwhelming level of community need and the strength of the applications submitted.
In total:
32 nonprofit organizations received funding
60 applications were submitted
More than $2.25 million in requests were received
