On October 8, the Greater Cabarrus Foundation is joining donors, nonprofits and DAF providers across the country to celebrate DAF Day and encourage donors to recommend grants from their Donor-Advised Funds to the organizations and causes they care about most.
What is a Donor-Advised Fund?
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that lets you:
You contribute cash, securities, or other assets to your DAF and receive an immediate tax deduction
Your contribution grows tax-free over time
You recommend grants to your favorite nonprofits whenever you’re ready
You get the tax benefit right away, but you have the flexibility to support organizations over time as you see their impact unfold. It’s strategic giving that works with your financial planning.
What Is DAF Day?
DAF Day is a National Day of Action for Donor-Advised Funds and an opportunity to put generosity into motion.
DAF Day was launched in 2024 by Chariot to increase awareness, adoption and grantmaking through Donor-Advised Funds. The annual event brings the philanthropic community together around a simple idea: when donors take action, charitable dollars can move to nonprofits and communities where they are needed.
