Cabarrus County Nonprofits Encouraged to Register for Free Brand and Storytelling Workshop

Cabarrus County Nonprofit Workshop

The Greater Cabarrus Foundation encourages Cabarrus County nonprofit organizations to register now for its upcoming Agency Lunch & Learn, Beyond Posting: Using Brand and Story to Strengthen Your Engagement, taking place Thursday, April 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Kannapolis.

Hosted through its capacity-building division, Support Cabarrus, this free workshop includes lunch and is designed to help nonprofits strengthen their messaging, connect more effectively with their audiences, and increase engagement through clear, compelling storytelling.

In today’s crowded digital environment, many organizations feel pressure to post more frequently or chase trends, yet still struggle to see meaningful results. This session takes a step back to focus on the foundation of effective communication: strong brand messaging and authentic storytelling.

“Workshops like this are about more than just learning new tools, they’re about building confidence and capacity within our nonprofit community,” said Jenn Delaney, Director of Capacity Building Services. “When organizations are equipped with clear messaging and strong storytelling, they’re better positioned to connect with their audiences, grow support, and ultimately advance their mission.”

The workshop will be led by Justin Moore, Principal and Creative Director of Sublmnl, an award-winning brand development studio. Moore brings more than 20 years of experience helping organizations develop brands that resonate and inspire action.

“If you make a series of posts just to ‘put something out there’ each day, people can tell,” said Moore. “But when you share honest, familiar messaging your audience relates to, that’s when they’ll lean in and pay attention. My hope is that participants will leave this discussion with a better understanding of why you should be sharing on-brand messaging, which will then lead you to what you should be saying and how you should be saying it.”

Participants will gain practical insights into clarifying their organization’s message, identifying and connecting with their core audience, and using storytelling to build trust and engagement. The session also includes a hands-on exercise where attendees will begin developing their own brand framework using guided templates and real-world examples.

This workshop is part of Support Cabarrus’ ongoing commitment to providing accessible, high-quality professional development opportunities that strengthen the long-term sustainability of local nonprofit organizations.
